We are very tight in seating this year (as always) and so we are asking that you follow the instructions below very closely to help insure things run smoothly and we avoid as many snags as possible:

REGISTRATION AND RULES INFO...
.) Registration for the competition will be behind the auditorium at the north side of Chandos. There will be signs with arrows pointing the students in the right direction. This is where they will have their bags checked and receive their hand stamp.

.) BRING YOUR GO CARD - Students will not be let in if they do not have proof of ID. You will need to vouch for any students who do not have ID. This will be difficult to manage after the competition has started if you have any late arrivals as the registration moves from back stage to the front entrance and students will be coming in with the public. Make sure they have ID.

.) Every student (volunteer or dancer) must be on the registration list or will not be allowed in. The names of all teachers and students listed on your rosters have been included on the registration lists. I have also included any volunteer names that were added on the spreadsheet. If you have not added volunteers to that list and they will be coming, you need to send me their names as we use the same protocol with them as we do with the dancers.

.) Once dancers have registered, there are no in and out privileges. They are allowed to use the lobby and surrounding area's to mark out if they need and access the concession (which is cash and debit this year - yay!) but they cannot leave the premises.

.) There will be a meeting in the theatre for all dancers at 11:15am to go over protocol for entrances and exits, talk about in and outs, and any other house keeping items.

.) Once the doors open to the public at 11:30am, dancers need to remain in the theatre with the exception of using the washrooms or going to the concession. We felt last year that the space was incredibly empty which made the energy very low. Also, we struggled with explaining why there was no more room for ticket holders but the bottom area of seating was nearly empty. Please tell your students no practicing after the competition starts.

.) Please remind students that they are not to use the washrooms in the lobby to change and do their hair/make-up. We will have students enforcing this and there will be security doing the same. This space is for the audience and for bathroom use only. There are change rooms back stage for boys and girls, please ask them to use these if they are in more than one piece.

.) Lastly, please remind the students that the volunteers at this event are doing their best and have been given a job to do. They need to respect them and what they are asking of the dancers.
